Tutorial 8-Photo Retouch

Image
Hello Everyone, Today's Lesson: Photo Retouch This was quite simple to accomplish and I enjoyed doing it. I practiced on the example image before I got started on my own. I got my original image from freeimages.com and found a nice picture to use to accomplish this task. I liked this image because of the hair colour.  That's all for now, Crystle Maree Original Edit Original Edit

Tutorial 7- Double Exposure Effect

Image
Hello Everyone, Today's Lesson: Double Exposure This took me a good week to figure out what I was trying to do with this. Now I have a better understanding of what I'm doing with this and feel confident to be able to do this technique moving forward with the assessment and even in my own personal projects. Few things that had me confused was the select and mask interface. It was confusing to me because I wasn't sure what did what. My partner was helping me and came across a video on Youtube that really made it easy to understand and it might really help others that aren't sure how to use this feature. Check out this link:  https://youtu.be/pSVeSzzMrKs The second part that was confusing to me was the layer blend features. I've never really used them before and it took me to figure out what mode did what. I kept doing putting the layer blend mode Overlay on the wrong layer to get this effect the example was providing in the material. This was mostly bec

Tutorial 6 A/B

Hello Everyone, Today's Lesson: Distressed text and Fiery text I struggled a little trying to understand how to do these tasks but after a little while I managed to get a somewhat distressed looking text and a fiery text that I was somewhat happy with. Something I need to practice multiple times to try and perfect this technique. This was diffidently very difficult for me and probably was for others too. I had help from Youtube and my partner and I still struggled. I'm hoping practice makes perfect. Keep at it and don't give up. It will happen eventually.  That's all for now, Crystle Maree

Tutorial 5

Image
Hello Everyone, Today's lesson: Adjusting layers, Layer masks and Blend modes. I came into Photoshop feeling very optimistic and excited. In the past I've used Photoshop in school for creative classes and assessments for other classes. I've also used it for personal use creating different projects for myself, friends and family.  Looking though the course work up to tutorial 5 I got a refresher on a program I know and love and wanted to jump straight into it. I worked through all the material using a picture I took of a kookaburra on my first family Glamping trip.  By the time I came to tutorial 5 I felt confident about what I had to do. I downloaded the picture that the tutorial asked us to use, opened it into Photoshop and got started. First of all starting with changing the eye colour. Simple! Using masks was new to me so this was a challenge but I quickly got the hang of it and flew through charging the eye colour from her blue/green eye to a rich dark gr

Assessment 2-Comic Strip

Image
Hello Everyone, Today's topic of discussion Assessment 2-Comic Strip This assessment I was both excited but very nervous to work on. I haven't done many comics in the past maybe one that I can remember. I wasn't sure how to start except setting up a comic strip template ready to get ready to sketch some ideas. I had a few ideas that I sketched out on a familiar application to me Clip Art Studios. I roughly sketched out three comic ideas. One about a funny moment of my partner and I playing World of Warcraft. Another about that my best friend and my favourite characters from Overwatch. The last sketch which I ended up going with was how my day becomes such a great day when with friends.  My sketch was very rough and only basic figure shapes/poses which I later changed up. See Below for what I sketched and what I ended up doing. That's all for now, Crystle Maree Original Sketch Assessment Completed

Tutorial 4: Comic Strip Template

Hello Everyone, Today's lesson Comic Strip Template A few rectangles, combine together using the compounding object tool, a gradient background, a few text bubbles and some text later and a comic strip template ready to go (this is not the finished layout of the bubbles and text. This is for example purposes only.) Keep an eye out for the finished project coming soon :)  That's all for now, Crystle Maree
